Rose Bowl

Out of the 12 paper vessels I made yesterday only one is dry. I'm so excited the wait is killing me! I'm very pleased with the one that is dry though. It's the one that was darker than all the others. I rushed outside to take some pics in the snow:

I added some darker red to the very edge last night and I'm really pleased with the way that turned out. The tin foil has left an impression on the underside that reminds me of leaf veins.

It's such a pretty, delicate piece and definitely has that rose-petal effect I was hoping to achieve, and I'm impressed with the contrast of textures between the inside of the dish and the underneath.

All it requires now is a light varnish for protection and it's good to go. And all I require is a bit more patience while I wait for the others to dry. It's like watching snow melt......

  2. This looks like a good project for kids, although I don't think they would cope with the waiting time either!

I love them, can't wait to see what other options you come up with.

  3. Yes the waiting time's a killer craftycarianne! It wouldn't be so bad for a children's group that meets weekly though. It is very messy and wet though. My fingers are still stained red despite being bleached!
